For Tanqueray’s newest limited edition release, the juniper-forward Tanqueray Bloomsbury, Master Distiller Tom Nichol drew inspiration from a recipe created by Charles Tanqueray’s son, Charles Waugh Tanqueray. In 1868, when Charles died, his son Charles Waugh Tanqueray took over his business. He was only 20 years at the time, but was a brilliant businessman and innovator just like his father.
Inspired by an original recipe dating back to around 1880 when the distillery was located in Bloomsbury, England, Tanqueray Bloomsbury features prominent notes of Tuscan juniper along with additional botanicals including coriander, angelica, winter savoury and cassia bark.
“I wanted to make something that was completely different from our other limited editions and with this gin I do feel we have achieved that. It is very inspirational to work with an original Tanqueray family recipe, and for it to taste this good,” says Tanqueray Master Distiller Tom Nichol.
