      Winery Notes
The nth DEGREE is a selection of handcrafted, limited production wines created by Fifth Generation Winemaker, Karl D. Wente. The focus of this small lot program is to create wines that reflect the distinctive terroir of the Wente family’s estate vineyards in Livermore Valley and Arroyo Seco, Monterey. Each wine must show style and finesse of stellar degree to be included in The nth DEGREE program. Only the best of the best, regardless of vintage or variety, achieve this distinction.

      Tasting Notes
Wente Vineyards 2016 nth DEGREE Cabernet Sauvignon has beautiful aromatics of black currant and dried herbs, such as bay leaf, with a hint of chocolate. This wine has well-integrated tannins with a long finish and rich mouthfeel. Wente Vineyards winemakers recommend decanting this wine upon drinking.

      Vintage Notes
2016 was an exceptional vintage in the Livermore Valley. While it was still a fairly dry year due to drought, we experienced more rainfall in the winter than previous years. The higher amount of rainfall allowed for larger yields while still maintaining smaller berry sizes, resulting in pure, high quality fruit with bold flavor extraction
