This Tromba Single Cask Select Overproof Añejo was aged for 19 months in American white oak barrels. It exudes rich, complex agave flavors.

This work is truly on display with this single barrel over-proofed Añejo that comes to us at 96-proof. I had the opportunity to travel to Jalisco to pick this barrel alongside Rodrigo Cedano Ortiz, son of Master Distiller Marco Cedano, and restaurateurs from the East Coast, and this was a clear standout that will no doubt expand what you know about tequila.

The nose is a delectable greeting in this tasting experience with notes of florals, grass, cooked agave, deep citrus, and vanilla. While not overly strong, at first sip, you will notice the prominence of proof and flavor, especially as this pour comes to you at 96-proof (versus the typical 80-proof release). On the palate, you will discover honey, hazelnut, sage, mint, and all-spice in this fun mingling of sweetness and earthiness. On the finish, caramel and toasted oak become pronounced with black tea, herbaceousness, and warming white pepper. A perfectly lingering finish makes your mouth water as you prepare for that next sip.
