      The Talisker Xpedition Oak series was born to celebrate wild whisky-making with a collection of rare aged Single Malt Scotches that have been finished in casks made of staves stressed through a wilderness journey to reveal a truly rare and unique whisky. Literally made by the sea, having matured in casks made of staves that have traversed the Atlantic Ocean on an epic 3264-mile journey; imbued with the oceanic elements.

      With a release limited to just 1,830 bottles – to mark the year Talisker was founded - this is a truly limited opportunity to own and experience this artistic embodiment of adventure.

      Crafted from just 10 Hogshead casks that were nurtured for over 4 decades by our master craftsmen and women.

      Appearance

      Deep clear amber. Excellent beading.

      Body

      Full.

      Nose

      Mellow overall and slightly spicy, with a fruity top note of bruised apple and a smooth, aromatic hint of wax. Beneath these scents lie intriguing rich layers of aroma; notes of canvas and varnished wood mingle with maritime hints of sea air and warm sand, all swirling above a faintly smoky and waxy base.

      PALATE

      A smooth texture and a vibrant, juicy start introduce a sweet, rich, intensity with a fresh, balancing splash of ocean salt spray. The effect becomes lightly drying before Talisker’s peppery warmth envelops the palate. Mesmerising overall, it cascades with smooth, rich flavor and is excellent to drink neat.

      FINISH

      Wonderfully long, with a considerable sweet chilipepper warmth that suffuses the whole palate.
