      Tasting Notes
Inviting citrus blossom and melon aromas entice the nose and open onto a palate filled with full flavors of pear, melon and green apple. Creamy and silky on the palate, subtle toasted oak frames the wine while vibrant acidity lifts and carries the fruit into a finish that is mouthwatering and long.

      Vintage Notes
Our vineyard and harvest crews deserve high praise for adopting and adapting to new health and safety protocols during our 2020 growing season, and for growing and nurturing a beautiful vintage in the midst of unprecedented global events. In cooler Carneros, our Chardonnay vines enjoyed a warm dry winter, mild spring and an early summer with cool mornings, gentle fogs and sunny afternoons. While the year challenged us with mid-August wildfires, the coastal winds and proximity to the bays helped protect our Chardonnay vines. We brought our first Chardonnay into the winery on August 27 and our last bins came in on September 10. We monitored all of our barrels, and ensured that only the most protected fruit went into the final blend of Truchard Vineyard Chardonnay.

      Vineyard Notes
Truchard Vineyard lies in the heart of Carneros, prized for its rolling hills, sun exposure and cool, breezy conditions that allow long, even ripening. Nickel & Nickel makes wine from eight select sections of this 270-acre vineyard, composed of volcanic ash and rock with a southwestern exposure. The growing season tends to be long in this cooler area, allowing for fully mature fruit at harvest.
