Ezra Brooks Single Barrel Cask Strength Bourbon S1B22
Born in Kentucky Bourbon Country but at home anywhere, Ezra Brooks exists for those who appreciate quality at a fair price. Still aged in new charred American white oak barrels and bottled the old-fashioned way, Ezra Brooks is as honest as they come. Whether you're looking for a confidante, a wingman, or the life of the party, Ezra Brooks is unabashedly unaltered. Genuine and transparent. And smooth enough for any situation.
From Lee Diaz, Topflight Series Panel Member:
This Ezra Brooks Single Barrel Cask Strength selection comes to you at 120 proof, which is a standard for how they release cask strength barrels, and true to the label, it really is an extraordinary pick. First and foremost, this does not pour like an over-proofed bourbon, which may happen when you venture into those higher-proofed picks; it is balanced and flavorful, with a wonderful finish. I enjoyed a blend of flavors on the nose that reminded me of a cinnamon sugar cookie with a touch of cherry. As you sip on this selection, you may find baking spices leaning into cinnamon and cloves, vanilla, with a subtle nuttiness. The finish expounds on that nuttiness with oak and caramel. On ice, some of the more subtle notes start to pop with caramel, oak, and leather.

Rebel Cask Strength Bourbon Single Barrel Select S1B23
For more than 150 years, Rebel Bourbon has remained true to its rebellious roots. That's probably why it feels right at home at Lux Row Distillers in Bardstown, Kentucky. Since 2018, the distillery has been making a name for itself in Bourbon Country by honoring tradition but doing whiskey differently. It's not every day one visits a distillery with more than 18,000 square feet, six barrel warehouses at capacity, plus a 43-foot custom copper still churning out bold spirits, including Rebel Bourbon and its partners-in-crime Ezra Brooks, David Nicholson, and Blood Oath.
Rebel Cask Strength is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey handcrafted according to the original 1849 "wheated" recipe developed at the now-famous Stitzel-Weller Distillery. The bourbon in this collection has been aged a minimum of four years, hand-picked from extraordinary barrels, and then bottled at cask strength (120-proof) to deliver a more complex flavor with a defiantly smooth finish.
From Lee Diaz, Topflight Series Panel Member:
I have been impatiently awaiting this cask strength single barrel release from Rebel since we traveled to Lux Row last summer. Rebel comes from a family of brands that have grown in their renown: Ezra Brooks, David Nicholson, and Blood Oath. As a wheated bourbon, clocking in at 120-proof, it lives up to the balance of tradition and rebelliousness the brand is built upon. On the nose, you'll discover the aromas of toasted marshmallows and candied walnuts. The wonderful balance of wild honey, ripened fruit, and a clear nod to that wheated element are on the palate. This evolves into toasted oak and honey that lingers with a balance of brown sugar and a smokey leather finish. It really is a classic bourbon that offers a range of complexity. This pour will allow you to find your favorite tasting notes while exploring the virtues and nuances behind why this specific barrel was selected. In case you are on the fence, a single barrel 120-proof Kentucky bourbon at this price point is an absolute must, especially when you consider the work of this family of brands.
