This precocious spirit began its life at a well-regarded distillery tucked inside the “Island” region of Scotland (sshh… it’s a secret). Before meeting its first cask, the fresh newmake wandered down to Texas and kicked the tires before finally settling into a used 5-gallon bourbon barrel. Exactly 1.6 years later, the youthful whiskey emerged from his tiny wood home and made fast friends with a 15-year-old light whiskey. They met as equals. Both from wildly different backgrounds but bursting with flavors that makes a 50/50 proportion taste perfectly appropriate in your glass. On the nose, you can find deep honey and a fruit bowl with papaya, apricot, and toasted vanilla cream. The palette unfolds with delicate tropical notes, dark brown sugar, and a toasty hint of pipe tobacco, landing with a light finish.
