This Bundle Contains
After blending, the whiskies that comprise Artist Blend and Glasgow Blend are re-racked into their original casks. This is called marrying, which allows the flavors of the different whiskies to integrate. Though each cask now contains the same whisky, after many months — and sometimes years — of marrying, additional characteristics develop. No two casks are the same.
Each will showcase a new dimension to the fruit-forward and creamy Artist Blend or the ruggedly smoky and sherried Glasgow Blend. This Single Marrying Cask program has allowed us to choose the cask influence we like best.
From Lee Diaz, Topflight Series Panel Member:
Compass Box continues to redefine the depth and breadth of possibilities in blending whisky. And this Glasgow Blend Single Marrying Cask Scotch is a spectacular example of this work. Not only is it a perfect blend of single malt scotch and unspecified grain whiskies, but it is also taken a step further by completing the marrying process in a lowland grain whisk(e)y barrel. The result is a balanced scotch that will offer you common whisky notes enhanced by flavors that will delight you. The nose is a blend of florals, honey, and a hint of light smoke. As you enjoy this pour, you'll discover rich fruits, vanilla, and cacao, with a continued hint of bbq. The finish beautifully combines buttery pastry with what reminds me of orange pith and candied ginger. It's unique and surprising and leaves you wanting to return for that next pour.
