      Beyond the Label

      The ABERFELDY Exceptional Cask Series is a passion project of Malt Master Stephanie Macleod, in which she carefully monitors maturation and flavour development in each cask until the desired flavours have been achieved, at which time the whisky is deemed ready to be bottled.

      For this rare ABERFELDY 24 Year Old Exceptional Cask, two casks which were initially aged for 16 years in refill sherry butts were then married together to harmonise the individual cask influences and then finally, the whisky was disgorged in to Oloroso Sherry Butts to mature for another eight years. The Oloroso casks bestow notes of dark chocolate, nuttiness, and spiced, stewed fruits.
