This globally awarded, single grain whiskey has been aged twice – first in American oak Bourbon barrels and again in Spanish oak Oloroso Sherry barrels. It will make you think twice about Irish whiskey.
While the Bourbon barrels brings a sweetness and smooth vanilla notes, the Oloroso casks layer on depth of dried fruit and Spanish oak spices. To find the best Oloroso casks, we go off the beaten track to the small Andalusian town of Montilla, home of the famous PX grape. It works neat, on ice, or in a cocktail.
Product Type | Whiskey |
Style | Irish Whiskey |
ABV | 42% |
Country | Ireland |
At first floral, before dark fruits emerge – cherry, raisin, fig and christmas cake along with a touch of nutmeg.
Sweet and smooth, with butterscotch, honey and caramel from the Bourbon cask.
Raisins, figs, maraschino cherries and a pinch of brown sugar are present from the Oloroso cask.
Lingering notes of ginger spices with a faint glimmer of almond end a complex Irish whiskey from start to finish.
2 oz. | Double Barrel Whiskey |
1 oz. | Simple Syrup |
1 oz. | Fresh Lemon Juice soda water |
Add | Soda water |
1 | Slice of lemon |
Add | Sprig of mint |
1 | Fill a highball glass with ice. |
2 | Pour in the Double Barrel and simple syrup with the fresh lemon juice. |
3 | Top it with soda water and garnish with a slice of lemon and a freshly torn, slapped mint spring. Best made in a shaker, but you can build it over a glass of ice like we've said above. |
