Signaling the beginning of the Mexican summer, Tromba is the life-giving rainstorm that brings change to los Altos, the famed tequila producing region of Jalisco. It was this force of change that inspired Marco Cedano, Tequila Tromba founder and Master Distiller, when, despite the naysayers, he embarked on a journey to bring true craft tequila to the world. A true pioneer of tequila craftsmanship, Marco entered the world of tequila in 1974 with Don Julio. This started a journey which would see him create their first batch of 100% agave tequila, revolutionizing the category and creating the new standard for premium tequila. Following the sale of the distillery, unwilling to accept shortcuts to his recipe and yearning for more than a corporate role, this master craftsman followed his passion to create Tequila Tromba. Joined by his son Rodrigo, he employs his unwavering standards, precision and decades of experience to guide him and continue his journey to challenge people to drink true craft tequila.
From Kati Alexander, Topflight Series Panel Member:
Uniquely Distiller-owned, Tequila Tromba is the essence of marrying authentic old-world tradition with today's new possibilities. Tromba's founder, Marco Cedano, and his son Rodrigo continue the family legacy of producing premium tequilas that are soft and rich in flavor. The Barrel #118 Single Cask Select Reposado, hand-selected by ReserveBar, harnesses the best of Tequila Tromba's soft complexity. Pale in color, this reposado has bright aromas of citrus and butterscotch. While sipping, you'll appreciate a lush and silky mouthfeel with honey, candied lemon, and pistachio flavors. As you explore this unique tequila, you'll find hints of coconut and rich caramel — evidence of its 8 months spent in American white oak casks. Left on your palate is lingering butterscotch and a balanced delight that can be described as pistachio dipped in honey. This single cask offers a silky, warm, and sweet experience that will surely put a smile on your face.
