Venezuela’s oldest producer of award winning single estate rum
Age: Santa Teresa 1796 is a bold and elegant rum with blends that are aged up to 35 years in bourbon oak barrels. This limited-editio then spends an additional 13 months in Speyside whisky casks.
Product Type | Rum |
Style | Dark Rum |
Production Method | Solera Method |
Cask Finish | Speyside Cask Finish |
ABV | 46% |
Country | Venezuela |
Reddish amber and rich in tears.
Cooked brown sugar with undertones of cooked fruit; lots of woody spice and light smoke. Smells like whisky!
It begins with a familiar toffee & sugarcane honey, followed by a note of apricot, dried fruits and apricots, caramelized almonds and little bit of dark chocolate. This gives way to malted barley notes, and a damp, burned wood and smoky flavour, reminiscent of a fire just put out.
Long, extremely drying finish (evaporates in mouth) with that familiar black pepper tingle.
2oz | Santa Teresa 1796 Speyside Whisky Cask Finish |
1/4 -1/2oz | Simple Syrup |
2 dashes | Cacao Bitters |
Garnish | Orange Peel |
1 | Add all the ingredients into a mixing glass full of ice and stir. |
2 | Serve in a rocks glass with a transparent cube of ice and garnish with an orange peel. |
