Joshua Tree Distilling Company Lost Horse Whiskey - Main
Joshua Tree Distilling Company Lost Horse Whiskey

      Beyond the Label

Craft produced blended American Whiskey. An incredibly smooth, easy drinking whiskey for a night by the fire or an afternoon cocktail. No added colors, sweeteners, or artificial ingredients and non-chill filtered. 1% of all Lost Horse Whiskey sales are donated to the Joshua Tree National Park Association to help support the ongoing operation and preservation of Joshua Tree National Park.

In 1890, Johnny Lang lead his cattle on horseback to graze through the California desert. One morning, Johnny woke to discover that his horse had gone missing. When he discovered the missing horse with the infamous McHaney Gang, he was told that the horse “wasn’t his”—and the McHaney’s didn’t seem open to anyone questioning that assessment. Left to walk back to camp on foot, Johnny met Mr. “Duke” Frank, who wanted to sell a mining claim in the nearby hills due to fears over the gang’s activities. Undiscouraged, Johnny bought the promising claim from Duke. Lost Horse Mine, as Johnny named it, went on to produce over $5-million worth of gold and silver between 1894 and 1931 in what is today Joshua Tree National Park.

We drink Lost Horse Whiskey in this spirit of serendipity, because we never know what our next adventure will bring.
