About

Winery Notes Our Yamhill-Carlton Chardonnay is a true expression of this variety in Oregon, with bright acidity, great energy and depth. This wine is 100% estate grown, coming from the Gran Moraine Vineyard tucked in the western foot hills of the coast range. Tasting Notes This white wine exhibits aromas of peach, apple blossom, chamomile and brioche. Notes of lemon curd and Asian pear intermingle with a firm structure and lengthy finish. Vineyard Notes Oregon wines with a signature style of elegance and restraint, Gran Moraine produces Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and sparkling wines from the Willamette Valley. Our estate vineyards, Gran Moraine Vineyard and our Winery Estate Vineyard, perch on the oldest marine sedimentary-based soils in the Yamhill-Carlton sub-AVA of the northern Willamette Valley. Our wines showcase Winemaker Shane Moore’s tireless attention to detail in both the vineyard and the winery, which translates to precision and elegance in the bottle. At Gran Moraine, we believe in picking fruit on the cusp of ripeness to maintain the most pure, intense, and expressive fruit characteristics. With its cool climate, the Yamhill-Carlton sub-AVA has temperate growing conditions that allow for longer hang-time on the vine, which help to preserve the acidity and promote the nuanced fruit and earth characteristics that are a signature of Gran Moraine wines. The end result is a collection of Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays that showcase Gran Moraine’s unwavering attention to detail in both the vineyard and the winery. Always offering balance over opulence and a fresh through-line of acidity, Gran Moraine wines uniquely showcase a complex, feminine, and delicate facet of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA.
