Women’s History Month Feature: As one of only a handful of female Master blenders in the world, Master Blender Dr. Rachel Barrie is creating some of the world's finest Single Malt Scotch whiskies.
Glenglassaugh Evolution is an exclusive release matured in first fill ex-Tennessee whisky barrels. This single malt scotch shows great depth of character and finesse, a harmonious combination of scotch whisky and oak. Bottled at 50% ABV, natural colour and non-chill filtered. Evolution represents the heart of Glenglassaugh’s distinctive personality and indeed, the landscape in which it is set.
Glenglassaugh is the only distillery to straddle the Highland/Speyside border, with a coastal position, resulting in taste influence from three locations the whisky matures in our beachside warehouses exposed to the north sea air, which lends it intriguing salty notes and makes some of the world's best scotch.
A dram will tell the story of a distinctive whisky from a single variety oak cask style. This expression was matured in ex-Tennessee Whiskey casks.
Traditional copper pot stills have been used at the Glenglassaugh distillery since 1875. The malt whisky is distilled twice; once through the ‘wash stills’ and then the ‘spirits stills’. The stills are very wide with a low fill height giving a very gentle run due to a larger surface area and allowing for a more controlled heating process which provides a sweeter spirit.
