Freeland Spirits is a woman-owned and operated distillery located in Portland, OR. This bourbon pays homage to the South and to "Meemaw" Freeland, the beloved namesake of Freeland Spirits. They blend a touch of the Pacific Northwest terroir into this classic spirit by resting their bourbon in hand-selected pinot noir barrels from their neighbors at Oregon's Elk Cove Vineyards. One of only 20 barrels specially picked for their private selection library.
From Lee Diaz, Topflight Series Panel Member:
This Freeland Spirits single barrel is a brilliant example of bourbon produced in the Pacific Northwest balanced with the impact of the Elk Cove Pinot Noir barrel. You will discover this mingling of influences on the nose with vanilla and caramel that gives way to bright stone fruits. At first taste, you will continue to experience those scents as flavors, adding complex notes of leather, cherry, and baking spices. The finish leads into a lasting velvety profile accentuated by notes of leather, toasted oak, and dates. At 115.34 proof, you will discover that warmth on the finish that prepares you for the next sip.

Immediate warm greeting of vanilla and caramel.
Rounded and smooth, vanilla and caramel dominate, with notes of fine leather, pickling spices, intertwined with juicy cherry.
Long and velvety.
Pairs nicely with fine dark chocolate, enhacing the cocoa undertones.
