Código 1530 Double Cask Finished Single Barrel Añejo S1B20 - Main
Código 1530 Double Cask Finished Single Barrel Añejo S1B20

      Beyond the Label

Código 1530 is a premium spirits brand known for generations by only a select group of Mexico's most respected families and finest jimadors. Código 1530's tequila offerings have been perfected using time-honored customs without veering from the historic traditions of including no added chemicals, flavorings, or sweeteners.

Passionately produced in Amatitán, Jalisco, Mexico, the rested tequilas are meticulously aged to taste in the world's finest French oak cabernet wine barrels, rather than the more commonly used American whiskey barrels. This distinct difference in our aging process produces a uniquely smooth and delicate finish.

Código 1530's partnership with the ReserveBar Topflight Series allowed us to add a unique and distinct twist to our Napa cabernet wine barrel aging process by adding an additional resting period in a Spanish sherry cask to finish the añejo's rest.

From Kati Alexander, Topflight Series Panel Member:

Código 1530 is known for making incredible tequilas that use a traditional recipe following centuries-old codes and customs – “Los Codigos.” Their añejo tequila has won every contest they have entered up to this point, so it is no surprise that the ReserveBar Single Barrel selection absolutely blows my socks off! Código 1530 Double Cask Finished Single Barrel Añejo is uniquely finished in Napa Valley cabernet French white oak barrels and sherry casks. This harmonious combination offers a deep amber-gold color and decadent aroma of almond shortbread cookies, charred orange, and tiramisu. When you taste this Código Single Barrel, you’ll be greeted with gentle notes of charred orange that quickly develop into a smooth and creamy mouthfeel with crème brûlée and accents of caramel – evidence of the double-cask influence. The flavors grow in complexity through the long finish of white pepper-dusted candied nuts. Tasting this tequila was such a treat, and I admit I may have given myself another pour because, WOW, this pour is good. This is a show-stopper enjoyed neat or on a large rock – but taste with caution; you might just fall in love with this bottle.
