The Woodford personal selection process is a blending together of two unique barrels. Alone, they bring their own distinct profiles from nose to finish. When brought together, there is an enjoyable experience where certain notes become more prominent by virtue of the blend, while others flavors seem to just disappear. The result is a truly curated experience that has found us quietly trying to do the same thing when we taste our way through single barrels at other distilleries.

In this second of our Woodford Personal Selection releases, we celebrated some of our favorite notes from the previous release (S1B1) while offering a new direction that would be enjoyed to the last pour. The result is a selection that anyone can enjoy and is distinct enough from the previous so that if you could get your hands on one, you can enjoy them side-by-side and experience the virtues of each. The nose in this pour immediately shines with baking spices, vanilla, and subtle orange citrus. This leads to a profile that delightfully elevates the grain with roasted nuts and oak, which evolves into clove and butterscotch, and a finish with oak, leather, and dark chocolate. This pour also offers a complexity that will keep you coming back to discover more as flavors evolve and become a bottle that will genuinely deepen your love for Woodford Reserve.
