Winemaker Giorgos Vourvoukelis uses one of Greece’s most popular grape varieties to create an ingenious version of the varietal experts consider the “greatest white wine from Greece”. Appropriately naming his creation after the sole grape it is made from, his 100% Assyrtiko is produced from organic grapes grown near the Thracian Sea, resulting in a wine with superior aromas and flavors.
The light golden color and crispness of this full-bodied white wine can be attributed to its 4-month rest in stainless steel tanks. It has high acidity like a Chablis, and is earthier and more citrus-forward than Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio.
Product Type | White Wine |
Varietal | Assyrtiko |
ABV | 13% |
Country | Greece |
Citrus-forward in both aroma and flavor, it meets the nose with lemongrass, asparagus, white flowers, and pineapple. It is dry and crisp on the tongue with strong lemon characteristics.
Versatile enough for any occasion or dish, it goes especially well with grilled seafood, shellfish, green salads, cooked vegetables, herb-seasoned meats, cheesecakes, and pies.
