The Countess Walewska is one of history’s great symbols of purity and loyalty. Known for her beauty and intellect, she was a fervent Polish patriot. Forced to give up everything in her life for the good of her nation, she became influential during her era as she had the ear of Napoleon.

The Countess graces our potato vodka, which represents loyalty to the traditions of the finest potato vodkas from Poland. It takes over 9 pounds of potatoes to make one bottle. It is an expensive undertaking. Less than 3% of the vodkas in the world are potato based, and we think that makes ours pretty special.

Origins

The Countess Walewska is part of a larger collection of spirits called Great Women Spirits by Francis Ford Coppola. Great Women Spirits honors the individual accomplishments of women throughout history and tells their largely forgotten stories. The Family Coppola hopes to bring even more joy to cocktail enthusiasts everywhere by crafting a collection of spirits as unique and remarkable as the women they honor. All of our spirits are small-batch, ultra-premium and classically styled, and are proofed with pristine Napa Valley spring water that has been naturally filtered through the base of an extinct volcano.

Ingredients

1.5 oz. Waleswska Vodka
0.5 oz. Crème de Cassis
0.5 oz. Grapefruit Juice
0.5 oz. Lemon Juice
0.25 - 0.5 oz. Simple Syrup

Recipe

  1. Add vodka, creme de cassis, simple syrup and fruit juices to a mixing pint.
  2. Shake with an iced tin.
  3. Strain into glassware.
  4. Garnish with lemon twist.
