As one of the purest expressions of modern tequila on the market, TEPOZ promises a smooth, heavenly flavor that’s nothing less than fit for a god.
Named after Tepoztecatl, the ancient Aztec god of alcohol, TEPOZ pays homage to tequila’s long and storied heritage by expressing the spirit in its purest, smoothest state. TEPOZ’s 100% blue agave is cultivated in the Nayarit region of Mexico, where it is allowed to age for ten years before being harvested. Even the most premium tequila is only as good as its agave, so TEPOZ’s jimadores meticulously tend to the plants and test soil quality to ensure that the agave ages smoothly. This maximizes TEPOZ’s brix content, resulting in a stronger, more robust flavor. Small batches of the healthiest piñas are selected to be slow roasted before undergoing a natural fermentation process where the liquid mixes with bagasse (woody agave fiber) to elevate the flavor. This mixture is then triple distilled and cold filtered before being bottled on-site in Mexico. With its superior taste and nuanced flavor profile, its no wonder that 42 professional tasters awarded TEPOZ a double gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. As a result of its field-to-bottle distillation process and its elegantly simple composition, TEPOZ has become known as one of the most authentic expressions of modern tequila available today.

Our Origins Inspired by the beautiful culture of Mexico and her people, Steve Morocco founded TEPOZ with one goal in mind: to create a one-of-a-kind tequila that’s fit for a god. For him, this meant refining the time-honored method of crafting tequila to its purest, most authentic state. The result is a drink that delights both tequila purists and newcomers alike. TEPOZ is tequila at its finest, combining innovation with tradition in order to express the very best of Mexico’s oldest traditional spirit.
Scent and Flavor Notes Discriminating judges and sommeliers have described TEPOZ Tequila as having a distinct agave-forward nose that imparts traces of charcoal and pepper on the palette. In addition, the warmth and smoothness experienced in the back of the throat literally puts TEPOZ in a league of its own.
