Sourced from one of our highest elevation vineyards, the Stonestreet Rockfall Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon features a vibrant wildness that aptly expresses its rugged growing site above the fog line. Bold aromas of Santa Rosa plum, black cherry and dark chocolate overlay nuanced undercurrents of bramble, mulling spices and black peppercorn. This powerful wine’s classically savory palate also displays hints of blueberry and sweet tobacco leaf, which lie in perfect balance to its generous structure and dense tannin profile.

Stonestreet Estate Vineyards stand on the western ridge of the Mayacamas Mountains towering over the Alexander Valley below. High elevations, volcanically derived soils and cooling maritime breezes give us a unique location from which to pursue the quest of mountain winegrowing. Of the 5,100 acres that make up the Estate, only 900 are planted to grapes while the remaining land retains its natural biodiversity providing a habitat to cougars, owls and black bears.

Stonestreet Estate Vineyards stands as one of the most extensive mountain estates in the world and is a testament to the quality of high-elevation winegrowing in California. Here one finds a collection of distinctive single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons, Chardonnays and Sauvignon Blancs—wines carved from an extreme landscape.

Stonestreet Estate Vineyards is a story of gravitas and one man’s vision to defy the limits of California winegrowing. Purchased in 1995 by Jess Jackson and Barbara Banke, Stonestreet Estate Vineyard is planted high atop Black Mountain, in the eastern portion of the Alexander Valley AVA. Climbing from 400 to 2,400 feet above sea level, Stonestreet Estate is a patchwork of peaks, valleys and ridges defined by high elevations, volcanic soils and cool maritime breezes. From top to bottom, the property possesses more than 20 soil types and 20 temperature zones. To ensure the utmost quality and authenticity, the estate is divided into 290 separate vineyard blocks and sub-blocks. Each section has its own specific rootstocks, varieties, clones and viticultural protocols matched to the complexities of the terrain.

From these divergent terroirs, winemaker Lisa Valtenbergs crafts site-specific single vineyard wines each harvest. Additionally, the Stonestreet portfolio showcases an Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Estate Chardonnay and Estate Sauvignon Blanc—a collection of expressive cuvees emanating from the most highly prized vineyard blocks on the mountain during a given vintage.
