Origins

Among the verdant fields of Santiago Matatlan, you will find three generations of Javiers, led by Javier Mateo expertly honing the family tradition. In addition to making exceptional mezcal, they practice sustainability and fair trade. Crushed agave fibers are recycled from their distillation process to fertilize their fields, create clothes, and make their labels. As a family philosophy, they make sure to take care of their employees by compensating them with higher wages.
