This exquisite Single Malt has a deep fruity character of peach and pear layered with a vanilla sweetness and the characteristic hints of peat and smoke found in Loch Lomond Whiskies. Loch Lomond 12 year old is aged in three types of cask – bourbon, refill and re-charred. Our Master Blender, Michael Henry then brings these together to deliver a perfectly balanced single malt.

Nose
Ripe Pear. On the nose, Crisp green apple, ripe pear and refreshing citrus lemon with background notes of golden cereal.
Flavor
Vanilla meringue. Flavors of deep fruity character of pear lead into citrus lemon, vanilla meringue and light biscuit sweetness.
Finish
Wood smoke. The finish is medium in length with gentle wood smoke and a lingering peaty tang.

Origins

Loch Lomond Distillery creates the finest Single Malt Scotch Whiskies using long fermentation and then distillation in its unique straight neck and more traditional spirit stills. The result is a palette of delicious spirit flavours from fruity and sweet, rich and complex to smoky and spicy. These wonderful spirits are then combined with great care and skill by our master blender Michael Henry to create our award-winning single malts. Founded in 1814, the Loch Lomond distillery can trace its roots back to the Littlemill distillery, which was established in 1772 and is the oldest licensed distillery in the world. Its current malt and grain distilleries, in Alexandria, Dunbartonshire, close to the banks of Loch Lomond, were commissioned in 1964 with first distillation in 1966. When it opened, Loch Lomond distillery’s ground-breaking straight necked stills were a revelation, enabling production of a lighter, fruitier spirit and greater control over the whisky’s character. Under the later ownership of the Bulloch family further distilling innovation took place with the aim of being self-sufficient. It is among only four distilleries in the Scotch whisky industry to maintain an onsite cooperage which makes and maintains 20,000 casks annually.
