Beyond the Label
Krug Grande Cuvée is born from the dream of one man, Joseph Krug, to offer the very best Champagne every year, regardless of annual variations in climate. Each Edition is a unique blend of many vintages, imparting a fullness of flavors and aromas, incredible generosity, and absolute elegance - something impossible to express with the wines of just a single year.
Krug Grande Cuvée 168ème Édition is composed around the harvest of 2012. It is an exquisite blend of 198 wines from 11 different years, the oldest dating back to 1996.
In this unique approach to winemaking, Krug selects from over 400 individual wines to create the final blend of Krug Grande Cuvée. The same is true for a chef selecting individual ingredients to become part of a final dish. To bring this philosophy to life, each year, Krug selects one single & unexpected ingredient and invites chefs to create recipes to pair with Krug Grande Cuvée. This year, Krug celebrates the Onion and invites you to pair your glass with a Three Onion Dip recipe below.
Krug Grande Cuvée 168ème Édition is rated 95 pts.
