Origins

I.W. Harper’s story begins in 1848 when our founder, I.W. Bernheim, came to America with $4 and a dream. The brand has lasted through several periods of turmoil (Prohibition, Great Depression), to ultimately be distributed in 100+ countries by the 1960s. Created during a time when high quality bourbons were few and far between, “fewer and better” — that was Isaac Wolfe Berhnheim’s mantra. He sought to create the world’s most refined bourbon for those with the taste to appreciate it.
