In collaboration with Barcelo Rum, E. Leon Jimenes Rum was first bottled in 2013 to commemorate the 110th Anniversary of La Aurora Cigars, and to celebrate the Company’s extraordinary history.

The aging process for E. Leon Jimenes is quite unique, consisting of the first eight years in virgin American white oak barrels, with the final two years in French oak sherry tun.

The result is a one of a kind experience where notes of toffee, honey, roasted almonds, coffee, caramel, spicy sweetness, and sherry come together in an extra smooth and balanced taste.  

Leon Jimenes Rum has earned a score of 97 points with the Beverage Testing Institute, and in 2020, a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (where 1,500 - 2,000 spirits compete, with no more than 10 Double Gold Medal awards given to a category).

And, if that wasn’t enough, E. Leon Jimenes Rum is championed in the US by NBA Hall of Famer Karl Malone - who as its official ambassador, is proud to stand behind this Rum, one that he proudly pairs with his Barrel Aged by Karl Malone Cigars for a winning combination.

Notes of Scent & Flavor

    Amber with copper tones, bright and crystalline.

  • Aroma

    Excellent wood, with aroma of ripe fruit and hints of fig. Medium shade vanilla. Close long and soft.

La Aurora, the original hand-made cigar factory in Dominican Republic, celebrated its 110th anniversary with the E. Leòn Jimenes 110 Anniversary Rum - a unique spirit with limited annual batch production, that until now, could only be purchased at the La Aurora Factory in Santiago De Los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. E. Leon Jimenes Rum is a true ten-year aged Dominican rum made from pure sugar cane. Aged eight years in virgin American oak barrels and then finished an additional two years in French oak sherry tun. Dark amber-colored, featuring flavor notes of honey, red fruits, vanilla and cocoa, this is a flavorsome and delicious spirit with a nuanced, depth of flavor. E. Leon Jimenes Rum is smooth, sophisticated and meant to be savored…whether sipped neat, on the rocks, or as a part of a reinvention of your favorite cocktail (think: Old Fashioned, Side Car, Sazerac, etc.) you will not be disappointed with this high-quality, small batch, crafted rum.
