Origins

Founded by the two Dewar’s brothers: Tommy and John Alexander, Aberfeldy distillery rose up in 1898 and was designed by the famous architect, Charles Doig. The location - Perthshire - is not just picturesque, it’s also a practical master stroke, chosen for its access to a plentiful water supply - the Pitilie Burn, rich with alluvial gold. Aberfeldy is known for its sweet honeyed richness, deriving from the distillery’s longer fermentation times. After distilling in copper pot stills, and aging to perfection in the finest oak casks, our whisky is ready for you to enjoy when Stephanie MacLeod, our Malt Master, deems it perfect.
