Notes of Scent & Flavor

  • Appearance

Deep cherry color that suggests a young and vibrant wine
  • Nose

Nose is rich in aromas and pronounced in intensity. We are struck by the ripe red fruit, later we get the wood nuances with gently sweet notes of vanilla to finish with other sweet spices.
  • Palate

On the palate it is perfumed, soft and fresh with a long finish that leaves memories of red fruit, vanilla and cocoa.
  • Food Pairing

Perfect with pasta, poultry and fresh light cheeses, grilled chicken, small bites (light cheese, grilled vegetables). Great with: Fresh salads and small bites.

Origins

Campo Viejo has a long history that takes us back to the Roman Empire. However, it has been only in the last century that our name became synonymous with Rioja wines. From our first vintage – brewed in the former Ortigüela winery in 1959 – to the creation of the famous ‘Rioja Bottle’ in 1961 and the unveiling of our new state-of-the-art sustainable winery in 2001, we have been at the forefront of Rioja winemaking.

Campo Viejo's dedication to Rioja winemaking, alongside the most advanced winemaking techniques available, has allowed us to create modern twists on traditional methods to deliver progressive styles of Rioja that satisfy todays discerning modern palates.
