Recipe

1. Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker, and shake everything over ice.
2. Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube.
3. Optionally smoke the cocktail with piñon or pecan to add more complexity.
4. Garnish with a piece of edible gold leaf.
5. TO MAKE DESERT CREEK HONEY SYRUP Add 1 cup Desert Creek Honey (or other Texas honey) and 1/2 cup water into a medium saucepan. Warm over medium heat until honey is dissolved into water. Do not boil. Take off the heat and let the syrup cool. Pour into a glass bottle for storage. Syrup can be refrigerated for up to 1 month.
