Recipe

  1. Stir Truthteller and vermouth in a large pitcher until mixed together.
  2. Pour into the barrel and let rest for 1-4 weeks in a dark place, tasting after 1 week to determine if the aging is to your liking.
  3. Gently rotate/shake the barrel before serving to mix ingredients together.
  4. When ready to serve, pour 3 ounces of cocktail from the barrel into a mixing glass filled with ice and stir with 3-4 dashes of bitters.
  5. To make a single cocktail that is not barrel-aged: Combine 2 oz Truthteller, 1 oz Sweet Vermouth, and 3-4 dashes of bitters into a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir until chilled, then strain into a chilled coupe glass and garnish with a bourbon-soaked cherry.
  6. Optional: Infuse Truthteller before aging with a handful of whole coffee beans to enhance the flavors and add extra depth. We recommend a locally roasted Texas coffee, like Tweed Coffee Roasters. To infuse, simply add Truthteller and a handful of whole (not ground) coffee beans to a glass jar, seal, and let sit for a couple of hours. Strain into a fresh glass bottle and it is ready to serve.
